Teenagers and Toddlers

Toddlers or Teenagers - Which are worse? Or is there even a difference?

    Have you ever wondered what it was like to live with 3 teenagers and 1 toddler? I haven't figured out if they are all teenagers or all toddlers! I never would have imagined we would go through the terrible 2's or the troublesome 3's multiple times throughout the span of 18 years. 

    These wonderful little human beings I have created and raised are making me question my life choices on most days. Teenagers can aggravate a toddler like a toddler taking away another's favorite toy. Just why? I wish for my own sanity that I could answer that.

The Living Dead

    While most little ones fight to go to sleep, mine will look up at me and say, "It's time for bed." I can totally appreciate that! Then we have the always hungry always sleeping teenagers. I have 1 teenager that is in bed for 7:00 every night, 1 that is in bed for 9:00, and 1 that I believe may be a vampire. This dude never sleeps! My toddler will sleep anywhere from 12-14 hours. My next child maybe about 8 hours. My2 oldest will sleep until it's time to go to bed the next day! This can be the most annoying thing. I love to do family things on the weekends when the hubby is off work. But if I wake the living dead, there is fury and death stares for about 2 hours after they begin moving!

Moody Humans

    Can we talk about these moods??? While you might think a toddler is worse, I can assure you the attitude of the teenager can amplify those moods. They all throw fits and cry over the most irrational things. She looked at me, he touched a piece of my hair, and that list can go on forever.

Needy

    You would think that toddlers would be more needy than a teenager. After all, aren't teenagers supposed to be hiding in their rooms away from all life going on in the real world? Nope, of course not, at least not in this house! I seriously don't believe anyone can do anything for themselves on most days! Let one kid give me a hug and they are all fighting over who hugs the longest and who hugs last. 

Mass Destruction

    The mass destruction that my house endures on a daily basis is not for the faint of heart. While the toddler makes toy messes and you can't see the floor, the teenagers make food messes. Toaster out, pots on stove (because we have to eat eggs after school), jelly spilled on floor, empty boxes in the pantry (from all of them), and the list goes on............ for eternity. 

Cleaning

    I am thankful that they will all clean. They have all started some kind of chore around 3-4 years old. But, to say they clean it spotless is an understatement. Pretty sure they all clean up like a 4 year old. Let's not talk about bedrooms! Between toys, make up, painting, gaming, and clothes, there just is no mercy on this heart of mine!

Summing it Up

    So, let's sum this up. Which is worse, toddlers or teenagers? I honestly have no idea. I'd love to know if I have 4 teenagers or 4 toddlers because at this point, I'm just at a loss!
